just unpacked these and they are a delight! everything functioned properly, of course i haven't been able to confirm the battery life but the lights are bright and beautiful..

These are a delightfully easy and economical was to add sparkly lights to your home inside or out. I bought three strands last year from Groupon and they worked for the whole season. At the start of this season they didn't work well but I discovered the batteries had been drain down to under 1.1v and still tried to operate a little. Replacing the batteries was easy and restored them to full functionality. I ordered more strands this year. The battery case is much improved. Batteries (4 AA's) can be changed by unscrewing the battery case rather than by removing four tiny screws. Much easier. Also the battery case has a hook on it (for hanging on a branch for example) and looks much more watertight. Three of the several flashing patterns aren't as attractive as last years because 8 adjacent lights flash on/off together instead of individually which leaves four 14" alternate sections off while the others are on. But the other functions are very attractive...

I purchased 4 of these last year and like them so well I just got another 3. We have a Blue Spruce tree out on our property near the fence. It is very dark and at night this tree lights up all by itself out there. Cars stop along the dirt road to view it. The newer version this year is even easier to use. I wrap the conrols in plastic to protect them (even though they are water-proof). And it has been raining here for a week and no problem. I choose to leave them on steady but you have a wide range of options. Easy to use and great to look at. Who could ask for more...

i have a 1930 model A ford and placed the string lights on the car. this was for a light parade or santa parade in highland indiana. it worked perfectly and looked realy neat..
