It was another exciting Thursday morning at Lights.com when our Customer Service agent, Sam, received an urgent inquiry from one of our regular customers, Roger.
Roger works for a major TV Studio and turns to Lights.com for his urgent lighting needs. Roger informed us that he was in urgent need of fifty Zuo Opulence Ceiling Lamps from Lights.com for the filming of a live television broadcast in Los Angeles. The absolute latest the lamps could arrive was on Saturday evening. Sam made a call to the Lights.com buyer and they located the 50 lamps, but there was a problem: the lamps were in San Francisco, 358 miles from where they were needed.
The buyer quickly produced a PO to secure the 50 lamps for shipment. At the same time, Sam called our shipping agent Eli and advised him of our urgent need: A truck and driver from San Francisco to Los Angeles in less than 48 hours! Eli called the buyer back within 30 minutes and said, “We’ve got your truck, are the lamps ready for pickup?” It had only been about 2 hours since the PO had been placed, so the buyer had to make a call directly to the warehouse manager to find out the surprising answer, “The lamps are ready!” The truck arrived at the warehouse a few hours later to pick up 50 Zuo Opulence Ceiling Lamps on behalf of Lights.com. At 11am the next morning, Sam had confirmation a from the driver that the lamps had been safely delivered into our customer’s hands on Friday morning, less than 24 hours after the initial order and a full 30 hours AHEAD of schedule. Roger was thrilled, and this story goes into the vault as yet another amazing Lights.com customer experience.
1- What are String Lights?
We use the term String Lights to refer to any series of bulbs connected to a common power source. Also commonly called “Christmas Lights” or “Patio Lights”, string lights can be used year round in a variety of household applications including patio and mood lighting. String lights are widely known for their use outdoors during the holiday season, thus have gained a close association with the holiday season. There are a wide variety of string lights for uses other than holiday decorating currently on the market and all of them can be found at Lights.com.
2- Which are the main features about String Lights?
String lights are simple to use and incredibly energy efficient. Many string light sets these days are made using LED lights, which use even less power than before. Gone are the days of short circuits because many lights currently on the market will stay lit even if 1 bulb is burned out.
3- Which are the best ways to use them in decor?
String lights are useful because they provide a balanced application of light across a wide distance. They can be useful for lighting up the entire front of a house, an entire tree, or a long fence. String lights are very useful for overhead lighting in any outdoor space that may be used after dark as they can be used to safely light up a large area using only a single power source. String lighting is excellent for use in dining and party environments because it safely lights all the functional surfaces without detracting from the ambiance of the other decor. String lights can be used in combination with candlelight to provide lighting from above and below. String lights are an affordable way to light almost any environment, but are most useful for entertaining and outdoor spaces. During the holidays, you can use string lights in your Christmas Tree or along your mantel or staircase.
4- What’s the global trend in String Lights?
String lights sales are booming worldwide due to an increase in quality and a decrease in price. As the popularity of outdoor living & entertaining spreads worldwide, more string lights are being used to illuminate patios and porches during the evening hours.
5- Which are your favorite String Lights available at Lights.com?
I like warm white LED lighting such at those that can be found in item LC13KTWW at Lights.com. Another benefit of these lights is that they are “expandable” which means that I can make them as long as I want by simply adding additional strings to the end of my set of string of lights.
Even after 15 years and hundreds of consumer product tradeshows under his belt, Joseph Shepherd never tires of combing the world for the best new home decor innovations. As a buyer for Lights.com, he sees thousands of lighting products that have yet to make their way into the mass market, and his goal is to bring the very best of it to Lights.com first.
